A largely attended meeting was held last night of Bendigo citizens to publicly launch the campaign for the re-election of Mr. Hughes. Much enthusiasm was shown, and Mr. T. E. Green was appointed permanent chairman of the Campaign Committee. Messrs. W. G. M'Roberts and E. G. Liam, of the National Federation, were appointed secretaries. It is thought that the Prime Minister will himself open his campaign at the end of the month. The Labor campaign, in support of Lieut. Hampson, now en route from England after duty with the A.I.F., will be opened to-night by an address in the Town Hall by Mr. T. J. Ryan.
