BENDIGO, Sunday - One of the keenest agriculturalists in northern Victoria. Mr William Graham McROBERT, O.B.E, FCLV, of Myrtle Street, Bendigo, died on Saturday after a short illness.

Born in Heathcote 75 years ago, Mr McROBERT had a lifelong interest in the land.

In 1911 he was appointed a State Government Valuer, and he served as such until 1920 he transferred to the Federal Land Tax Department and was valuer for Melbourne until 1937.

Among the many bodies with which he was associated were the Heathcote Agricultural Society, Bendigo Agricultural Society, Wheat Marketing Commission of Victoria, Bendigo Repatriation Committee, Chamber of Agriculture, Council of Public Education of Victoria, Victorial Technical Schools Association, and several local committees.

Tributes to his outstanding qualities as a citizen and his work as a justice of the peace were paid to the late Mr W.G. McROBERT by the City Court Bench yesterday when sympathetic references were made to his death. Mr D.J. Duggan. P.M. said Mr McROBERT was held in high respect by his fellow justices.
